Nicole Perez

Nicole is the Founder and Principal Teacher. She acquired her broad understanding of the use and properties of essential oils in Phytotherapy by working with her uncle, a Homeopath Doctor/Phytotherapist whose practice is in Provence, France, at the very heart of the world's traditional centre for the production of essential oils. Her approach to Aromatherapy is therefore rooted in traditional herbal medicine and natural therapies.

After practicing and teaching for many years Nicole has developed her own therapeutic understanding of the applications of Aromatherapy. Her Diploma course combines skilful practical knowledge of Aromatherapy with an integrated Spiritual approach to stress and illness. Her long-standing experience of Healing with Aromatherapy allows her to put forward a broad outlook of the various facets of human unease.

Nicole's teachings are designed to help students understand how to practice in a 'client-centred' manner and to prepare them to deal with human vulnerabilities in a caring and professional way. In the last decade she has contributed to various education projects initiated by the main Aromatherapy Organisations in the UK seeking to establish National Vocational Standards for the profession. She is the author of an aromatherpay text book titled 'The Aromatherapy Workshop'.

Nicole herself has written a number of professional articles over the years and was named as one of the ten leading Aromatherapists in Britain by Good Housekeeping magazine in 1993. She was a Council Member of the IFA from 1993 to 1999, Chairman of the IFA ('96) and has lectured in the Far East, particularly in Japan and Singapore. She is a fellow member of the IFA.

Nicole Perez was the editor of the Aromatherapy Times in 2004/05 and carries writing whenever she finds the time to do so, see under articles.
