Subtle healing with Radionics
Recently a lady approached me suffering from exhaustion for which her doctor could find no explanation. 'Using the analytical techniques of my therapy, radionics, I obtained an indication that this lady - let's call her Mary -  might have an energy field blocked by the adverse effects of chemicals, some of them of natural origin. Mary was an experienced aromatherapist, who practised massage. I suspected that a combination of over-exposure to essential oils, together with the effects of pollutants which affect us all such as traffic fumes, had built up in her non-physical body to such an extent that it could no longer support the vitality of her physical one. I treated Mary with a combination of distant radionic healing and remedies, and she is now recovering.

So what is radionics?

It is a technique whereby the practitioner uses a highly trained intuition to access those subtle regions of living beings which are invisible to our normal senses and to conventional diagnostic instruments. These regions are searched intuitively, in what is called the analysis stage, to find where the normal energy flow is seemingly blocked, and attempts are made in the treatment stage to clear any obstructions so that vital energy can return to the physical body and restore well-being.

Radionic treatment instruments are a serious challenge to common sense. They may bear switches and dials but contain very little else that would make sense to a physicist. The name ‘radionics’ is a relic of early days when it was believed that these instruments were broadcasting healing rather like radios. This idea has long been abandoned, but the name persists. Today we believe that they serve as a focus for conscious intent. It is possible to work without them, but most practitioners find, for reasons that we don’t understand, that to do so is to risk profound exhaustion and the breakdown of their own health.

What ‘map’ do practitioners use when attempting to examine invisible energy structures?

Theories of the human aura and the subtle structures within it are complex and can be a lifetime’s study, but successful radionic healing can be entrained using simplified models. The ‘map’ which most of us use is based on that of the traditional Hindu teaching which was later adopted by the Theosophists. Man is regarded as being surrounded by three fields which nest inside each other rather like a set of Russian dolls. Closest to us is the etheric field, which vitalizes the physical body via a network of channels known as nadis. Where many nadis cross, there arise energy centers called chakras. The main chakras are linked to the endocrine organs and distribute vital energy, prana, to them.

Extending a little further from the body is the astral, or emotional field which registers our emotional reactions to events around us, and extending beyond that is the mental field where our thoughts and creative ideas are held. Each chakra has a component on the emotional and mental fields, as well as the etheric. For good health these three fields need to be free of obstructions and working together in harmony.

Radionic practitioners access these fields using a dowsing pendulum.

It is an aspect of the same skill used by water diviners. Noone can adequately explain it, but it appears to be an ancient human survival skill which has been neglected in ‘civilised’ countries in recent centuries owing largely to opposition from the Church. In the early 20th century a Catholic priest, Abbé Mermet , revived the use of dowsing (or radiesthesia as it is also known) for healing, and in the 1940s the Catholic Church conceded that its use for healing purposes was acceptable.

What is a witness?
For a radionic practitioner to carry out an analysis the patient has to give permission, supply the practitioner with some basic information about the problem for which he/she is seeking help and, if the patient cannot visit in person, something which is unique to that individual such as a small piece of hair. The hair sample serves as a link, or ‘witness’, between the patient and practitioner. (It is important to understand that the witness is activated by the mind of the patient when he/she seeks help and that the patient can mentally withdraw this activation at any time. There is no question of carrying out an analysis or treating via a hair sample acquired casually from a person who is not engaged in the process. An exception to this is hair samples from young children or animals which are activated by the parent or owner respectively.) The practitioner then mentally prepares him/herself, usually through meditation, and by posing a series of questions requiring yes/no answers uses a dowsing pendulum over the witness to carry out a detailed interrogation of the state of the patient’s energy fields. The results are recorded on a chart. By repeating this analytical procedure at regular intervals the patient’s progress back to health can be monitored.

Treatment may be given in several ways.

The usual way is for the practitioner to use special numbers known as ‘rates’ which symbolize the conditions, energy fields or structures to be treated, and for these to be set up alongside the witness on radionic instruments. Some practitioners also use instruments to transfer the healing ‘ideas’ to inert material such as sugar pills which can be sent to the client to take orally. Although instruments are widely used they cannot eliminate the need for both the practitioner and client to be consciously involved in the process. Some experienced practitioners do indeed manage without using instruments at all and carry out the process in their minds or on paper, but the conscious intent of both practitioner and patient remains essential for successful healing.

Not surprisingly, radionics has strained the credulity of conventional scientists since it was first promoted as a therapy in the early 20th C. In particular, the finding that both analysis and treatment can be conducted at a distance, that there is no necessity for practitioner and client to meet and indeed they can be at opposite sides of the globe, has proved particularly challenging. Despite this seeming absurdity, a sufficient number of critical people have been satisfied that radionics is effective and the therapy has survived.

An explanation of how radionics might work

Surprisingly, an explanation of how radionics might work has come not from practitioners but from the changing view of ‘reality’ which has emerged from modern physics. It has become clear in recent years that space (distance) and time are properties of the material world which we inhabit, but not of the underlying reality from which our universe emerges and to which we return at death. There everything is at the same place and at the same moment. Well regulated scientific studies have also shown that human minds can apparently connect and share information over vast distances, and indicate that our personal consciousness seems to be part of a wider consciousness which links us to every living thing, and also to the deeper reality from which our universe emerges. Many are now of the view that distant healing, telepathy etc. are not carried out at a distance at all, but at the level of the underlying reality where there is no distance between us. (See Fellows, L.E. in Scofield, Ed., 2003).

So what can be achieved with radionics?

There is seemingly no condition or disease which cannot be alleviated by it to some extent, but it is in tackling many of the intractable problems resulting from modern life where it might make a particularly valuable contribution. The case of Mary described above is typical of many who suffer from an overload of occupational chemicals. The substances themselves have long been excreted from the body and cannot be detected by physical means, but some energetic counterpart seems to cling to the etheric level of the patient for years. Everything that is unnatural does this, whether it be household chemicals, vaccinations, pesticides, etc. When we are young and the toxic load is low, we feel well, but as the load increases with age, or in Mary’s case through heavy exposure, a sort of’ traffic jam’ seems to build up until it reaches the point where the etheric field is ‘grid-locked’. How many of us have heard clients saying that ‘I was fine till I had that vaccination/ that operation/ changed my job ‘.. etc. and attribute their health problems to that single event. Almost invariably a radionic analysis will indicate that this was the last straw rather than the sole cause. The practitioner will then set about clearing the field in stages, rather like peeling layers off an onion, until the energy flows again.

Sometimes lives can be blighted if these causes are not recognised.

An art teacher, 45, had become unwell and pensioned off on ‘psychiatric’ grounds. She disputed this but as no medical explanation for her ‘imagined’ condition could be found, was forced to retire. Radionic analysis clearly indicated that the paints and solvents she had been using for years were the root cause of her problem and after treatment she recovered well. Sadly it was too late to get her job back, but she could enjoy her art work again.

Another case study

A 22 year-old man was dogged with fatigue which was threatening to ruin his business. Analysis showed a very high level of organophosphate poisoning in his etheric field. This was puzzling since he did not work with pesticides, but he then recalled that as a student he had had a summer job on a farm dipping sheep with his bare arms. A similar puzzling case was a lawyer of 27 who registered asbestos in his field. His father was a builder and he realised that he had helped him remove many old fireplaces containing asbestos. After radionic ‘clearing’ of the offending substances both men recovered.

Electro-magnetic pollution is now a serious problem to the thousands who are sensitive to it.

We are daily exposed to levels already 10 times what they were in the 1960’s. One woman traced her constant headaches to the time she moved to live near a television transmitter, and these were lessened using radionic techniques. Many people are unaware that they are sensitive to appliances in their own homes. Modern offices are also very stressful for some, with banks of computers/printers etc. unavoidable. If moving is not an option, radionic treatment can often reduce one’s sensitivity.

Physical illness may have its root cause not in the etheric, but in the emotional or mental fields.

Stress and unhappiness are known to be risk factors for cancer but have never been shown to directly cause pre-cancerous changes to DNA which are conventionally assumed to bring cancer about. A blocked emotional field detected by radionic analysis in an otherwise healthy person is an alarm call for the practitioner, who can support the client in many ways, including directing him to other supportive therapies such as aromatherapy or flower remedies, until the emotional state is improved. Prolonged bitterness and frustration can similarly wreak havoc on the mental level. A would-be playwright who had never quite ‘made it’ and had to reluctantly teach English to survive began to feel unwell after retirement. He sought radionic help after receiving a diagnosis of inoperable lung cancer. A massive block in the mental level due to frustration was seen. Had distress have been detected earlier this man’s life might have taken a happier course.

The energy centres known as the chakras

The energy centres known as the chakras are particularly important in distributing vital energy around the body. As a child develops the main chakras mature in sequence beginning with one at the base of the spine at age 0-3 years and ending with one at the throat at about 15-19 years. Trauma at any age can affect the chakra which would normally mature at that time and lead to chronic health problems later. A pop singer in his 30s came to me with a chronic sore throat which was wrecking his career. I found his throat chakra under-developed. This is the chakra associated with self-expression. He recalled how at 18 his father had prevented him from going to university and forced him to take over the family business. After radionic treatment directed at the throat chakra his sore throats disappeared.

Radionics is particularly useful when treating the very weak

Radionics is particularly useful when treating the very weak, including those nearing the end of their lives. Death is a taboo subject in our society, but this natural transition can be a peaceful and happy event. By supporting the patient emotionally and mentally the transition can be made far easier. As I attempted to help a dying patient I noticed that while her physical and etheric readings gently faded, her emotional and mental energy soared as she happily moved on.

Sometimes the use of a pendulum can help us find the cause of a client’s difficulties without completing a full radionic analysis. For instance a lady in her 70s had suffered from blocked sinuses all her life and tried every conventional treatment to no avail. Dowsing quickly revealed that she was sensitive to cow’s milk. At first she could not accept that a ‘good food’, one which she liked and of which she consumed large amounts, could be the cause, but after abandoning it for a week she was well and has stayed so. Similarly a young girl who had developed a mysterious cough for which no medical cause was evident, and who also appeared very well on radionic analysis, was found to be sensitive to a chemical in the laboratory where she worked. He cough disappeared after treatment to desensitize her to it.

All living beings can benefit from radionic treatment

All living beings can benefit from radionic treatment, once one has some understanding of the subtle energy fields associated with them. Animals are particularly good patients since they usually want to get well as quickly as possible, (but I have known some horses resist because, for example, they have had enough of running around a track to please the owner: treating boredom at the mental level has sometimes been effective in such cases!)

As the scientific map of the world changes it is hoped that many more people will recognise the contribution that radionics can make to their life and practices. Radionics works well with all other complementary therapies and with orthodox medicine. In his book ‘Vibrational Medicine for the 21st Century’ Richard Gerber M.D. writes: ‘This developing science provides a whole new understanding of the far-reaching potentials of human consciousness and the hidden capabilities of the multi-dimensional human being’. Writing in the 1980s, Aubrey Westlake predicted: ‘The rediscovery of the radiesthetic faculty in modern times is the gift of Providence to enable us to cope with the problems ahead.’ Maybe radionics can now come out of hiding and help us cope with the unique health problems of our time.

Footnote:
All the cases mentioned above are anecdotes and are presented for interest only. No claim is made that these constitute scientific proof that radionics works. The nature of radionics makes it unsuitable for clinical trials of the double blind type. Surveys of patient satisfaction have been published. In 1977 Alan Mayne conducted a survey of patients of Radionic Association practitioners. Of over 2500 cases, he found that approximately 60% claimed treatment to be completely successful, 30% partially successful and 10% unsuccessful. A later survey by Tom Lafferty in 1998 also showed a high level of patient satisfaction. Indirect support comes from other studies. Distant healing encompasses not only radionics but a variety of mentally directed techniques including prayer, and the results of many such trials have been published. Astin et al. (2000) analysed 23 trials (which met strict inclusion criteria) involving 2774 patients: 5 using prayer, 11 using non-contact therapeutic touch, and 7 other forms of distant healing. Of these 13 (57%) showed a positive treatment effect, 9 showed no effect over control and 1 showed a negative effect. The authors conclude that the evidence 'merits further study' and quote Larry Dossey MD: 'If. mental intentions can be shown to facilitate healing at a distance , this would clearly imply that human beings are more connected to each other and more responsible to each other than previously believed. That connection could be actuated through .. God, consciousness, love, electrons, or a combination. The answers to such questions await further research.'
